• GE13 An Open Letter to P102 Serdang Residents

Dear fellow Malaysians, voters and residents of P102 Serdang,

Today, I was announced as the DAP Parliamentary candidate for P102 Serdang.

The Barisan Nasional’s monopoly on power for the past 56 years has led to billions of Ringgit lost through corruption and wastages, the creation of a privileged class of rent-seekers, the irrefutable decline in education standards, the systematic abuse of the electoral system, the steady outflow of human capital and the gross distortion of our economic structure.

As your elected parliamentarian from the Democratic Action Party (DAP) belonging to the Pakatan Rakyat coalition, I pledge to play my role in carrying out the promises made in our Manifesto entitled ‘The People’s Manifesto – The People’s Pact, The People’s Hope’. As a member of the Pakatan Manifesto drafting committee, I have the utmost faith that the implementation of our manifesto will fundamentally transform the country for the better, for this generation and the next.

As your elected parliamentarian, I will contribute in three key areas of reform – the electoral system, the education system and the economy. I believe that my experience and expertise in the corporate, academic and political spheres has prepared me well to make a useful contribution in all three areas.

As your elected parliamentarian, I will influence policy and policy implementation so that public spaces and green lungs are protected, so that the police force is properly structured to fight crime, so that the public transportation system is improved in terms of access and coverage, and so that proper public consultations are undertaken for all major development projects affecting this constituency.

The time for change is now. The future of this generation and the generations to come is in your hands. Ubah Sekarang, Bersihkan Malaysia!

    Dr. Ong Kian Ming
    Election Strategist, Democratic Action Party
    Parliamentary Candidate for P102 Serdang

Kian Ming: As a Malaysian, you have said everything I wanted to say. I cannot wait to see our deserving children and grandchildren of all races not denied entry into the local universities. Let them mingle just like good old days, no racial polarisation. Let them help one another. And public space? That will soon be a thing of the past if we allow the same governance. You have our support, Kian Ming and we know you will do well!
